A few of the questions practitioners commonly ask before beginning foundation botulinum toxin training.
No. This is a foundation-level course designed for practitioners beginning their training in botulinum toxin. The program starts with essential theory and progresses into assessment, consultation, treatment planning and supervised practical treatment.
Yes. Real patient experience is an important part of our practical training. Rather than learning injection technique only on mannequins, you will participate in patient assessment, treatment planning and supervised clinical treatment.
No. The course explores both cosmetic and therapeutic applications relevant to dental practice. Training includes facial anatomy, assessment and treatment planning, with discussion of areas such as the masseter and TMJ-related presentations alongside cosmetic indications.
Practical training is deliberately kept small, with a 2:1 student-to-faculty ratio. This allows time for individual guidance, questions, technique correction and feedback while treating patients.
Your development does not need to end with the practical day. Dermal Distinction Academy provides ongoing educational resources and support, with further training options available as your experience and scope develop.
Not necessarily. If you have completed previous cosmetic injectables training but have had time away from injecting, or want supervised practice to rebuild your confidence, one of our refresher or mid-level training options may be more appropriate.
